Overview: Visit the River Kwai bridge, a reminder of darker times of WWII. Ride on a train on Death Railway track built by Alllied prisoners of war and learn about the history of the railway’s construction as well as visit JEATH museum.
Duration: Full Day
6.00 – 6.30 am pick up from your hotel (exact pick up time will be confirmed by reservation).
Visit Kanchanaburi, approximately 80 miles (130 kilometers) west of Bangkok.Upon arrival, visit the well-kept War Cemetery where the graves of over 6,000 prisoners of war (POWs) who perished along the death railway line during the construction and were moved post-war to this eternal resting place.
Ride on the train on the original of Death Railway. Delicious lunch is included. The train track is known as “the Death Railway,” which the Japanese had hoped would stretch it all the way to the Burmese border.
Discover the history of the railway at the JEATH Museum, which its name takes from the first letters of the words Japan, England, America/Australia, Thailand and Holland.
Approx. 5.30-6 pm return to Bangkok for your hotel drop-off.
