Description
TOUR DESCRIPTION
This tour allows you to cool off atop Thailand’s highest peak while admiring the views of Doi Inthanon National Park below. On the peak, nighttime temperatures can drop below -8 degrees Celsius. Night-time frosts are widespread throughout the cold/dry season. In fact, the climate on top of the mountain is more like that of Canada than that of lowland Thailand. Daytime temperatures can be chilly, so bring a long-sleeved sweater with you. On the way up, we’ll stop by the Wachiritharn and Siritharn Waterfalls, as well as a Hmong hill tribe market, the king and queen chedis (from which the best views of the park may be had), and finally the peak of Doi Inthanon, Thailand’s highest mountain. We’ll take the Angkha nature walk towards the top, where you can walk through the unique flora and forest found at this height. Doi Inthanon is home to Karen and Hmong communities, and we’ll pass through a Karen village on our way down the mountain before returning to Chiang Mai.
